Hydrasynth from ASM

great soundscape for a dramatic movie scene :+1:

Sold my HSD because I had came to realize that a) it had too many features for me and b) I only needed it for bread&butter analog sounds. However, those pads felt awful imo, probably because I’ve been spoiled by a Linnstrument. Had the HSD been half its size (that is minus the pads and the left-side controls), then I would have kept it for gigging.

thxxxx, though it is non-fictional music

Went to M83 concert today. Apparently, they had 6 Hydrasynths on stage. It looked like product placement

Wow! Any pics?

Did you see the video the algorithm on YouTube has been pushing?

It shows some dude in his car FaceTiming.

He’s talking to Just Blaze, the producer. Who is one of the most impressive gear collectors on the planet.

He showed the Hydrasynth and said hands down it’s the best polyphonic aftertouch synth on the market.

Here you go. 3 on the left for the keys guy and 3 on the right for the keys lady. Quite a symmetrical setup. Anthony also had a modest eurorack (104hp?) on which I think he plays samples and toys around with some delay/granular fx.

Each member of that group certainly has their own style going on.

Maybe they don’t know they can change patches. One HS per song ? :content:

They are very good at playing live and sometimes they play with multiple synths at once. Also I guess having three each is just easier to switch quickly. And not only between songs, but also because some tracks have very orchestral nature.

The bass player even found time to check his tiny phone.

Do you lose the original presets if you update? Are they crap?

Got a desktop ordered

You can still put the legacy presets I believe, but I found the V2 were a bit better.

The Legacy Single Banks are still listed on the Patchbanks section but the V2 also includes a bunch of the sound designer patches as well.

Been making loads of dub techno stabs and pads on the Explorer lately. Here’s one I made last week. Such a deep synth!

I want to map CC16 to Macro 5 in addition to its default mapping to Macro 1. In the mod matrix, I specify “CC 016/Macro” as source and “Macro5/128.0” as destination, but this doesn’t work. Is there a way to do what I want here?
