Use part 1 for pattern 1, part 2 for pattern 2, or use sample locks?
thx for really fast answer, i thinked i was alone to work at night, & sometimes feel that.
-> how i process ? let’s tell ina French-Touch Cheesy loops…
but longs…
i pattern 1 -> tr.1 recording_1 step 1 at 30 bpm…
then ? plz learn, im DDOS all sampling Octatrack on youtube actually ! :o))))
track has :
-intro
-lyrics 1
(refrain)
-lyrics 2
(refrain)
-solo
-lyrics 3
-(refrain)
typical 80s music…
hard to approach with OT + im new…
12.6 SAMPLE LOCKS
Each sample trig of a track can play a different sample. To do this, open the SAMPLE LOCK menu by holding
down a [TRIG] key and either pressing the [UP]/[DOWN] keys or turning the LEVEL knob.
i use 6 patterns ?
ok good
recorded passages… tried all modes beatmapping etc…
tempo change / sample base tempo…
could not remix a track with Octatrack :((((((((((
=> im new, dunno her exactly, but atm im a bit “disapointed” as she “cant sync to the beat”.
a big deception for common remixing tasks.
or tell me how-to do… (“daw-less…”)

it’s off-topik… gonna eventually create a topik…
Are you using full stems or loops? your best bet if you’re working with stems is to chop them into loops and adjust accordingly. If you have loops make sure the tempo is in the file name somewhere, the octatrack looks tempo info in files to help decipher how many bars a loop is. This can all be adjusted by had in the attributes section of the Audio Editor.
When I’m working on remixes I generally just keep a vocal and maybe some percussion elements and rewrite the song for the majority of the elements though.
problem is that’s an original song with lyrics so complicated…
THX for help ! ![]()
it’s “takes / recordings” i sampled from scratch… with A-B…
i would like to use computer only for REC & forums, like my “potato” is 2010 i7… pc…
so i wanted AED beat-map my samples 20-40s each… (tempo-detection) tried also AED tweaks like loop/noLoop, beat/normal…
tuned master tempo, first beats… was a pain, i almost abandonned ![]()
i dont want to rework “takes” in DAW/Editor, or it’s too easy. i must do without computer, …
Hi, I would like to respond, but it is not easy to help because it is not 100% clear to me what exactly it is that you want to do, and where exactly you are stuck.
So, I understand that you want to remix a pop song that has 6 different sections (intro, verse, chorus, etc.). The first point made above was that each section should be in a separate pattern, so that’s settled.
The second point above was that within a bank (=16 patterns) you have access to 4 “parts”. Each part can have a different assignment of machines and sample slots to the 8 tracks. If you need to have additional change of samples you can use “sample locks”, which allow you to assign any of the 128 sample slots in your project to a given trig.
I think the first important step is that you understand this logic and how it affects your remixing project.
Another, different issue you mentioned relates to some sort of “beat matching” that you wish to achieve. Here you need to understand that the OT cannot automatically and reliably “know” the BPM of your sample. That’s why it looks for information in the file name; and you need to verify and set BPM and/or sample duration in the audio editor. (You could then time stretch samples, but you need to be aware of the limitations of the OT’s (and basically any) time-stretching algorithm.)
My apologies if I did not fully understand your request and if these points are already clear for you.
What exactly do you mean here? AFAIK, recording buffers are not saved when you save a project. You need to save them as samples on the CF card first.
hello ccr, u perfectly understood, & THX for the reply
ye, OT lacks this beat-detection analyzing the sample u took from like A-B.
Elektron can update the OS, the machine is enough powerfull !
so i gonna do this
got Ableton lite 10 (like everybody lol, its given)…
maybe i gonna beat-map stuffs there ?
but need 1.05 OS fix beatmapping…
work-less european (as me) just does the minimal…
