Hi everyone…I apologize if this topic has been already covered but tried to look deeply and couldn’t find anything that could help me.
I am trying to chain DT, TT 303,and TR8.
I have set it up in this way:
DT Midi Out(sync A) to 303 Midi In(I am also sequencing it from DT with no issues)
Then I would like to add to the chain the TR8 so I put the 303 Midi Out to TR8 Midi In but without succes.(Would like as well to sequence TR8 from DT but better a step per time )
When I press play on the DT only the 303 is synced, while the TR8 doesn’t even start playing.
Am I doing something wrong in the chain?
Or is there a submenu which I have to enable in order to make also TR8 synced with the chain?
Thank you in advance, and sorry if my question could seem stupid but being new in the midi world looks a bit confusing.
Troubleshooting: Connect the DT Midi out to the TR8 midi in. Does the TR8 sync and play? If not you know that you need to adjust the setting in the TR8. If it plays the problem is with the TT303. I don´t know this one but it is possible that the Midi out is not passing the clock signal through from the input. Back in the days we had a midi trio: in, out & thru. Expected behaviour of the midi out would not include that the incoming signals are forwarded as we would use the other port (midi thru). Since I don´t know the TT303 I´d check the settings and look for something like “midi thru” enabled.
Workaround: use the second output of the DT to sync the TT303. The DT can send midi clock signals on both outputs at the same time if you enable this in the system settings.
Yes if I do DT midi out to TR midi in it works well.
I will try then the other set up you suggested me and get you back.
Thank you for helping me.
Cheers
@phelios I tried the set up you told me but I wasn’t able to enable midi clock to both outputs.
Tried then DT out to TR8 in,then TR8 out/thru to TT303 and it does work!
Thank you again…at least I can now use all 3 together.
