How to send / control Midi CC

Hi all. I’ve watched a few Octatrack MKII tutorials, even paid for the ask audio academy, to figure out how to effect Midi CC data, and I can’t seem to find the answer.

I’m currently trying to send Octatrack Midi LFO’s to my eurorack via Squarp Hermod. I just want to send LFO’s out to make control voltages move. Now I could have my set up with the hermod wrong as well, but I know that I don’t know what I’m doing with the Octatrack.

So, phew, how does one, send LFO from octatrack on a midi channel out? I’m on the midi tracks, and I’ve looked into the LFO parameters, as well as the FX1 and FX2 pages. And I’m a bit lost.

Hey!

First thing is to change in the 2nd FX pages the CC you want to control. Then you have to activate that one by func+ pressing knob and then go to the LFO and set the CC as destination.

Thank you, this is exactly the information I needed.

Thanks! Thats the information I was looking for also!

Cant you Parameter lock the CC value on OT? Only control is via LFO?

My OT only sends a p-locked CC message after a reboot, do you know how I can get it to work as expected?

I set a midi track to send CC94 to my A4, when I move the knob the A4 track mutes and unutes fine, so I p-lock CC94 to a trig and play the sequencer and it does NOT mute the A4 track. However, when I reboot the OT it all works as expected.

No need to reboot. You have to set a different value in order to send it again.

Electron devices generally send similar midi events only once consecutively (except clock, notes…).

Boring. A workaround it to use a Square Lfo, Half mode, in order to send a different value and reset.

Sorry, I can’t get my head around this lol. I have a p locked CC that mutes the A4 track on one pattern/part and unmutes on a different pattern/part. It always works when I preview the trig (trig+YES) yet I cannot get each pattern reliably mute unmute how I want when I play/jam.

On the same or different CC? Do you mean p locking another CC message to be sent in the same pattern? Either way it won’t work for me after.

I have set up up my LFO like that and increased the depth but still nothing.

I’m sure it’s my user error, looking for an ah-hah moment here!

Same CC, different value.
If you’re not sure, a midi monitor is very usefull to check what is sent.

I don’t remember mute values.
0 = Mute ?
1-127 = Unmute ?
or does it toggle ?

If it toggles not sure if you will laugh, but it would explain lfo behavior. :content:
And maybe you’d need to send 3 values, with lfo designer or plocks…
Not motivated to test this tonight…
