Really enjoying my DT2, but could use some help…
I’d like to be able to chop or stutter samples that are playing already. Sort of like pressing the mute button on/off repeatedly fast while the sample is just playing like it should (so not retriggering the sample).
I have this sample trig on 1 and plays all 16 steps. I’d like to be able to control when it is muted…
I’m sure it is deadsimple, but I just have not been able to find a decent solution yet.
What would be your solution?
Do you want to do this performatively or are you ok with figuring out the sample / stutter placement in advance? For the latter I think you might be able to accomplish something like that with an LFO.
You could also use slice machine on your sample and populate all trigs with the output, then remove slices either every other step or in a pattern for a more rhythmic effect.
Another method is just placing a trig where you want the stutter and setting the start point a few milliseconds earlier than where the sample would be at that point. Stack these up a couple times for quick glitches.
