Hello all!
Recently got a Digitone and I’m trying to incorporate it into my setup, but struggling with getting auto-channel on the Digitone to work.
The setup was an OT, AR, Mopho X4, and an Ambika all working together flawlessly. Just sending the clock to the AR. The auto-channel of the OT set to 4, and the X4 also set to 4 with Local Control off. The Ambika using channels 1-3. I would sequence them all with the OT, and would select which channel was active (the channel playing notes by pressing keys on the X4) by selecting the corresponding Tracks. All was well, I could sequence, live record, etc.
The MIDI In and Out of the OT connect to the primary ports of MidiSolutions Thru and Merge, respectively. All other items go into the corresponding secondary ports for each one.
Now with the Digitone, I’ve decided I’d like to use its sequencer instead, as it has a higher polyphony per track. I’ve connected the MIDI In and Out of the Digitone to a pair of secondary ports on the MidiSolutions Thru and Merge, so hypothetically it is connected into the mix correctly.
MIDI channels are assigned to their corresponding tracks on the Digitone in both the MIDI Config as well on each channels SYN1. I’ve turned off auto-channel on the OT and enabled it on the Digitone on channel 4, but it doesn’t appear to be working; selecting T1 does not allow me to send notes from the X4 to MIDI Channel 1. From what it appears, only MIDI Channel 4 is working, but it’s active (as defined earlier) regardless of T selection on the Digitone.
So maybe I can start with: has anyone used the OT as a clock and the Digitone as the sequencer, with an external controller and autochannel enabled? Where am I going wrong here? Does the clock need to be coming from the Digitone for the entire setup?
Thanks in advance.
