Hello there,
probably an old question but I didn’t really find anything answering my little problem:
The digitone plocks every trig’s velocity value when I’m recording live with the unit keys (to the velocity value that is set in the trig page),
-
it’s a useless use of plock memory, and
-
it prevents me to use the Trig window velocity parameter as another gain staging utility (I know, velocity is not the best tool for that)
I searched the menus and the www but didn’t find anything, do I allways have to manually erase these velocity locks trig by trig?
Thanks in advance!
I do know that this is normal behavior for digitone keys in Live rec mode, and I’m not sure if you can disable it. You can try pressing func+trig(page) and under that setup page there’s an option for velocity to vol which can be turned off and there’s also an option for velocity mod which is the modulation setup page for velocity, you could also try making changes in there.
I don’t know if this will actually force the behavior to stop or not, it may just lock the trigs at a fixed velocity instead of the input velocity but it’s worth a try. I have a desktop digitone so unfortunately I can’t test this for you.

it should not be costing you anything in terms of parameter lock count
secondly - to capture variations of velocity onto a track of a Digitone just vary the velocity parameter dial shown on the TRIG page when recording live - or - plock in grid record mode

hey,
thanks for your inputs,
I know the velo/vol param but I don’t want to change it as I like velocity to be linked to the volume,
its a minor problem, even not a real problem I guess but I don’t like it hahah
As for the plocks memory I didn’t do any research on the subject,
but I work on 1-2h live sets with LOADS of plocks and I don’t want to reach the memory limit
I’ll check the links thanks!
Yes I know, but I wanted to be able to record with no velocity lock just the notes, and then be able to use the velocity param to adjust the whole sequence velocity (not looking for velocity variations, just as a kind of additionnal volume tool)
nevermind I can live with these automatic velocity locks or erase them one by one if needed, it’s just a bit convoluted to me
