How do I make sure specific Youtube channels never show up in my recommendations and searches?

I’m sick of seeing some specific Youtube channels (Synth Sumurai, Jade Wii) show up in the list of recommended and searched videos. I can’t seem to find a way to specify “never show me this sh*t” again. Am I missing something obvious?

Thank you,

On mobile at least, you can hit “don’t recommend channel”.

Probably different on a browser though.

when you are logged in and see all the videos in your “home” feed… any video you don’t want to see… the 3 dots on the right… click that then “don’t recommend this channel”

Is there anyway to tie this to searches, not just recommendations.

i.e. When I search for videos on a topic, never show me results coming from a specific channel?

Hmm. I’ve got a channel specifically ignored but if I search for something close enough to their most recent upload title it still gets suggested…

Over a decade ago, back when “don’t be evil” was their unofficial motto, you could force exclude things like w3schools from search results, but when they decided they liked ad revenue more than anything else, they ended that. I’d be surprised but pleased to find that it’s possible in YouTube.

I wonder if the good old “search term - [insert your shit list here]” trick is still working?

check what extensions are available for your browser.
quick search gave me this, available for firefox and chrome.
says it excludes blocked media from searches aswel.
