How can I make generative melodies with Octatrack?

I’m watching max marco Youtube

I have problems 3:40~5:00 in video.

I can sound a sample and cut the sound into 8 segments, but once I play it, another pattern is recorded and it is no longer 8 segments. (It gets shorter and shorter.)
How can I save the sound recorded with Flex Recording and not overwrite it?

Remove recorder trig after sampling.
Save sample in the normal fashion. Check manual for details.

You can place a one shot rec trig which will only record first time round.
