How am I running out of memory?

I have a live set, samples on various tracks, but tracks 1 and 2 are always reserved for live looping. These are just Flex tracks where the playback and record buffer are set to the same for the track. So when I record, it just erases what was previously in the buffer - no fancy stuff.

I have memory reserved for tracks 1 + 2 which is 16 seconds (zero for the others), and on these tracks I’m not using much at all. I do about two bars on one (32 beats) and one bar on the other (16 beats). There is 2.69M per track ready to use, and that is more than enough. Total memory left is like 30M

But sometimes when I’m going through my set I get an out of memory error?

I thought perhaps that old loops were getting saved somewhere, but clearly when I go to a new bank and new pattern, the original buffer is still playing, and I carry over parts from one song to the next that way. So the buffer is the same for all banks that I’m using as songs.

What could I be doing wrong?

This has happened to me, too, but in my case it was simply that I had reached the project memory… Not the OT memory. I was sampling YouTube endlessly and found the limit. Each project can only remember so much…

Hmm that’s weird. but I’m not saving any samples. I’m recording into a buffer, and then wiping it with a new recording. If it can hold two full buffers, I should be good.

I did another test today. Nothing went wrong, no out of memory issues.

The light for card activity did go into the red many times though. I wonder if the card is used for the buffer? In my mind it should all be internal memory being used, that’s why you reserve it.

The light will go red when you change banks, it’s not recording to the card, if it could do that some of us would use it for long recordings…
Do you have dynamic recorders enabled? If you do it sounds like you had a recorder going without knowing it, and it ate your memory…
