Okay, after several more listens in several different spaces (car, headphones, drugs, etc…) ive got a few more things to say about this…
I think that the LYV triptych exists as the touchstone example of what the Digitone can accomplish in the right hands, and that anyone complaining of hitting the limitations of the device should be sat down, dosed, and shown these pieces. To my mind, each one has been no less than stunning, and each one has taken from the last and gone further.
@ylva, your ability to convey emotion through your music is really something else, and your melody writing has leveled up significantly. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the music youve made. Ive had the hook in my mouth since The Ballad of the Lonesome Influencer, or before, and you have been nothing less than a massive influence on me, music-wise, since then. Keep up the good work, your efforts are appreciated.
