Hey, here´s an Ensoniq EPS-16 Plus Emulator

Well you are right some effects load and work ok. Rez and FM are consistently not working (tried multiple files I downloaded from the net).

I tried to get some help from chat gpt but no solution

(what it said was)

  • some effect opcodes haven’t been implemented,
  • some DSP microcode formats aren’t supported yet,
  • or the loader is stricter than the original hardware.

The weird thing Is that just before “Effect download failed” comes up the message on the screen for just a few miliseconds is “Disk command completed”

I‘m on it!

Thanks alot! I will move on to the fx-disks later.

Is there any ready made floppys out there with samples on it? some factory disks with presets or anything? :grinning:

Sure, google will help you, just make sure it’s an hfe file so the Emulator can load it.

I can’t find anything really besides some link to eBay or some random blog selling the files for 30$-50$ each.
I might be the worst googler lol

anyway I can create my own sample disks instead I think its a better idea.
Really great job and Im learning it at the moment.

You´re really not missing on out on great sounds, it was bread and butter sounds only of which you can get much better variants today easily. in my opinion the EPS´s strengths are is the sound with the various samplerates, its looping loopmanipulation and modulation capabilites. Try to understand the envelopes, they´re very complex but really great. basically you can set different levels for low and high velocity, the actual playing envelope will be interpolated between those two curves based on the actual velocity you´re playing. oh, also use boost=on on every sound (edit->amp), it sounds great.

It’s pretty Menu-heavy but Im learning to sample atm… taking one step at the time. If I can create a Drum kit and save it, then that’s my gran goal for the weekend.
I need to think like im sitting in front of the thing!
I have no idea how the original is but what I can tell from your plugin is that it operates exactly like I imagine an early 90’s sampler would. I would also love to try out that demolition disk, Rez filter and yeah create sounds. Man this is so dope!
