I’m honestly a little surprised to see a standalone parametric eq from herbs and stones, definitely a cool unit to play with and definitely sounds good but kind of a weird business decision as I’m not sure how many people are looking for a boutique 3-band analog eq like this as the practical applications are markedly more limited than their stereo multimode desktop filter. I wonder how much they expect to charge for this one?
It seems to employ some of the mixing matrix concept from their pathways mixer so I could see it being more than meets the eye, but fundamentally I think that they could have focused on revising the liquid foam synth for more traditional playability and had a better product. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see since there’s no info on their site about Three Stones yet.
