I got a DK-10 MIDI controller for my Rytm mkii. It works great, very fun, however, each pad that I hit pitches up the corresponding sample on the Rytm. The odd part is that if it’s a source sound like the stock kit (no samples) it doesn’t change the pitch. The DK-10 only changes the pitch on samples.
Also, it seems no matter which of the 10 pads I hit, and no matter which samples I program, it seems to tune them all up in the same amount of steps (1 or 2 octaves up).
Any MIDI/Rytm experts out there know why this is happening?
Doesn’t seem to give the full amount of data to the Rytm. The hits from the DK-10 are weaker and lots quieter than the Pads’ hits, even when I hit them as hard as I can.
it’s only affecting samples because the chromatic setting for the track is addressing samples only - it can be set to syn / smp / syn+smp
the notes coming to AR need to be note 36 on teh respective midi chgannel - or in teh range 0-11 on any channel - in which (both) case the voice will not be transposed
if you send a note other than 36 it will transpose - unless you disable chromatic
the chromatic range is 4 octaves centred around midi note 36
“Note 36”. That’s exactly what I was looking for, thank you.
For anyone that has the DK10 I’d highly recommend it for live use of the Rytm. To change the midi note to 36, you depress the edit note switch, and press the pad many times until you get to 36 and it sounds right ( you’ll have to go through all 128 notes!)
