agreed. is the analog vs digital debate over yet? i mean sheesh. my rev2 sounds incredible…oops DCOs!
and i for one like to use two hands to play keyboards
so the more LFOs the better. Also i don’t think I can twiddle knobs at audio rates

Prophet 12, the module.
12 voices, bi-timbral, wavetables and shit. Four delays that’ll take you to funky, Aphex territory. Fantastic interface. A beauty to look at. Very slim and quick to operate. And you get the Sequential sound.
Cheap too, the module one, compared to some of the behemoths suggested here. At least in Sweden, it’s “cheap”
In which phantasy-universe it that going to happen? Most listed offers that I see are instruments in very bad condition, from obviously dubious sellers or very overpriced. And if you are lucky to get an instrument that works it is only a questions of time before something has to be replaced or repaired.
My suggestion is the Rev2! Great value for money compared to other analog polys on the market. Simple design but still flexible routing and modulation possibilities in a user friendly interface.
Go for the summit.
Very good sound Nice controles even THE parameters which are in menu’s
Multitrimbal 16 voices
Nice overview when you are in dual mode
So you see which sound your controlling
Etc etc
Ps:here in belgium average price now is 2000€
My DSI Pro2 can very easily sound way more ‘analogue’ than my Minilogue, so I would definitely say so.
Doesn’t mean I don’t lust after an OB6 though
No one’s mentioned the Hydrasynth yet - has the honeymoon period for those ended now?
Did I miss it, or didn’t you tell us for what kind of music/genre you would like to have a polysynth.
I would recommend to check out:
Thanks, all, for the strong opinions! I’m sensing a definite preference here for the Summit…
I’ll definitely try to play one, somehow, soon. I’m sure there might be a few votes for the Polybrute if it had already been released and people had gotten their hands on one, but there’s a good argument for tried-and-true.
Four Ambikas
But seriously if all that was allocated for one new synth, I would go either Polybrute or Iridium. Prophet 6 might be the best sounding out there but the AS-1 (albiet mono) makes it seem a bit expensive.
If we’re talking used then you have some amazing options… Andromeda? Xpander? Maxed out XTk or Q? Omega8? Black Corporation?
I was in the same position and went for the Summit. Couldn’t be happier, the best poly I’ve ever played, having owned Juno’s and DSI - it fills out the frequency spectrum in a unique way. A masterpiece of synth design
This thread reminds me of Amazon reviews.
I really would like to get my hands on the super 6…
I own a summit and must say it sounds divine. The only issue I have with it is gain staging. It can start to clip when using a lot of voices, heavy unison, ballsy filter settings etc…
However, this could be more from the fact that I run it into the OT mainly. It’s definitely the Summit internally clipping but I’m wondering if I’m pumping to much volume out of the summit because my mixing in OT is off.
When I first got the summit I plugged it straight into my mixer and didn’t notice any clipping.
Besides that it’s absolutely stunning and the recent addition of user-custom wavetables is amazing. My only hope for it down the road is they increase the modulation matrix routings. There are a few parameters I would live to see added (like Filter envelope amount).
Oh yeah the Peak can do this too, the amount of pure juice is insane in that engine so they warn you in the manual that you can start to clip the internal mixer if there’s too much. You can avoid it by just turning down the oscillator levels a little bit, the manual mentions it a few times. I’m sure you’re already aware of all that, just posting it in case others are interested. I don’t get clipping very often at all but you just have to be aware of the huge amount of gain and adjust accordingly.
Yeah, it’s definitely my OT…I just don’t want to admit it sometimes
I have to go back and remix so much to get both my Nord Electro and Summit better in the mix. Not looking forward to it honestly.
no. I purchased both Juno 106 and Polysix for $1500 each within the past two years. both recently serviced. the Polysix had the necessary fixes (battery board) and midi added. the 106 had the necessary chip fixes done. it’s not that hard to find deals on either of these two. the Juno 60 is a little more pricey, but can still be had for around $2500. the 600 can be had for under $1800, and usually those have been serviced and have the GliGli mod.
and yes of course they’ll eventually have to be serviced again. like anything else.
but my answer to the original question is none of the above, but Rev2.
yep although I love the mod matrix I also mis the parameter filter env amount
not that I love the summit more them my other synths
but what you get with the summit for the price you pay compared with todays other polys on the market.
he sounds marvelous, has a nice interface, and a lot of other options
I mentioned this in another thread but worth saying here:
If you want the best price…Haggle!
I called up musicians friend during one of there 15% off sales (Summit didn’t qualify) but asked if they could do it. At first they said they’d take off 5%, I simply said no thank you and to call me back if they changed their mind. One of their “pro” reps emailed me an hour later with a quote with the 15% off.
By that time I already had Proaudiostar offering that deal but would’ve had to wait for restock. Ended up with Musicians friend.
I have five reps at five different stores I hit up with every purchase. I’m always polite as hell but absolutely firm and willing to walk away if the price isn’t good.
I learned this when working with some high level musicians and saw the deals they were getting (still much better than I can get).
Just a tip…some people in US think it’s rude but again, I’m very polite when I conduct myself. Most seasoned salesman will actually respect it.
Cheers
Yeah, I just hit up my Sweetwater rep for a better price on the Summit–will try a couple of other shops as well!
hey man my hydrasynth is coming in the mail tomorrow and i’m stoked!
He said his budget was under $2500 so I immediately thought Summit, Prophet 6, etc. Hydraysynth is half his budget! He could buy two of them!
