I am a total effect noob, I was curious why you excluded Strymon and Eventide products? I see them all over the place on “the Synth YouTube” as the youth say, but never heard anything particular about them.

@Fin25 is allergic to stuff that sounds clean. Except the Digitone.

Grayscale is your friend

But yeah, just get a BAM.

Yeah, that’s kinda part of the problem, I’m already sick of the sound of them before I’ve even used one. Also, most reverbs these days are basically VSTs in a box, which is great if that’s what you’re after, but I like the crunchier, less predictable sounds of the good old days.

Basically, I’m a snobby c#*t.

That line could be straighter, tho…

Make Noise panel graphics irritate me, tell me what the control does or don’t, I don’t need vague clues that only a Egyptologist can understand.

I keep saying it.
Boss RV5. Meets all criteria in the OP.
Small, simple, cheap, indestructable. Battery powered.

Not as cool as whatever hipster reverb nonsense is popular though…

You know, I’d totally forgotten about the RV 5.

Fair play, I’ll have another look at it.
