Hello and How do I register my Cycles?

Greetings,

I love it when I purchase a new device and find there is an active community of users.

So, hello everyone!!

I just purchased a Model: Cycles a couple of days ago and am slowly working to wrap my no-longer-so-neuroplastic-brain around it.

I took a break to set up an account with Elektron so that I could register my device. Once I had the account set up I saw the text saying I could register my device on my account pages, but cannot find where to do that.

I sent a message to tech support but then realized I could ask the Elektronauts.

Any guidance you can offer will be much appreciated.

Hi, welcome to the forum. There’s an existing topic for discussion of issues with registration.

I know after a recent revamp of the website they had some problems taking device registrations, but I thought it had been fixed.

Try looking in the thread I’m linking for relevant information, and I hope you can get resolved easily. If nothing else, elektron support should reply to your message with further information.

Enjoy your Cycles and good luck with your issue.

That’s not working at the moment.

Thank you for your replies. I guess I’ll wait for the support folks to let me know what’s what.

Elektron support told me “there is no need to register your device” when I emailed them about this just the other day. Apparently, all warranty stuff is automatic and doesnt require registration, or at least thats what I was told when I sent a message wanting to register my TV

Huh. Well, that makes it easy.

Somewhere along the way I thought I saw/heard in a video that when you register you would get to download the Odd Quarks pack for free. I could not find any mention of that anywhere on the Elektron site so obviously, I or my source was sorely mistaken.

Anyway, thank you all for your responses. I’ll move on from here to posting the inevitable questions about the device itself when I get stymied.

That may just be in regard to registering your account on their site rather than actually registering the device serial number. Did you try and download that sound pack yet to see if it was free for you after creating the account?

Yes, I did take a look at that after logging in.

There was a pack for a different device that is labeled “free”, but the Odd Quarks pack had the $9.99 price listed and that price was retained when I went to check out.

Maybe it was offered for free when Cycles first released?

Anyway, I have enough learning to do that will keep me busy. I doubt I’ll miss that sound pack any time soon.

I received an email from Elektron support this morning that confirms this.

I believe the free registration pack was called “Multi Cycled”. For some reason it is no longer available. I’ve downloaded and backed it up before Elektron changed the registration system, but its gone from my account now.

First of all, GREAT handle. Kudos, sir or madam.

Second, thanks for the clarification.

I wonder why they pulled it.

I purchased a pack called “OverCycles” when I ordered an overlay from these folks. Haven’t installed it yet. Figured I should understand the basics before I start messing with “upgrades”.

Have fun with Your M:C! I personally think that collecting preset packs for this machine kinda spoils the fun of discovering sounds on your own. The way the M:C is designed just encourages sonic experimentation, all controls are literally at your fingertips, without any deep menu diving.

But I if I have to recommend a soundpack, definitely check out the packs by Shadowband!

I will be learning my way around the box before I delve into soundpacks, but when I do, I will most certainly be checking those out.

Thanks!!
