hey, maybe someone knows that !? it’s about the heat mk2 with a midas mixer. here I go from the l / r output of the heat to the stereo chanel of the midas. then from the l input from the heat to the aux input from the midas.
but now i only get a mono signal. what can you do here to get a stereo signal? : /
or is that not possible because the midas aux is perhaps mono? i go to the units with mono instrument cables.
… so I would have to go from input r to the second aux of midas to get a stereo signal? this is very annoying as the midas only has two aux. is there really no other way?
Yes, you need to put a stereo signal in to get a stereo signal out, at least if you’re using a Mk1. The Mk2 Heat will automatically duplicate a mono signal to both output channels.
sometimes you could just cry. you go dawless and now the heat also needs two auxes from my mixer to run stereo - great and what do i do with the space now? spend money again.
This is just how audio works, you can’t get upset with your equipment because it doesn’t magically turn a mono signal into stereo. I can promise you that this isn’t a limitation that will prevent you from making music.
Sadly these have a lot of channels but are a little inflexible in terms of routing. You might want to look into a Mackie 1402, which has a stereo aux bus you can use for the Heat while retaining use of the sends for other effects.
I’ll have to do that. But I have to say, the kick from the rytm through this eq from the midas sounds really fat, that I’m afraid that this is not possible with the mackie.
thank you for your tip. unfortunately no, because here different signals are processed with the heat.
the ot is also at the start, maybe I can somehow regulate it with the cue …, one of the two units can get through here and then I would have to route somehow via the a, b, c and d entrances, let’s see.
Now that the heat stereo is running, the signal can be heard, e.g. a pad really fat on …
2 heats? How about getting some insert cables. One heat on the aux bus and the other just inserted on whatever channel you need as plug n play. Since the Heat has wet/dry it is a workaround. Not the best but at least something to work with.
not a bad idea either. i think i have found a good solution.
heat outputs go in two channels from the midas and are panned to the left and right.
the cue outputs from the ot go into the inputs from the heat.
and ot is put on studio.
ot main out also goes in two midas chanels left right.
now i can use the a, b, c and d inputs of the ot (whatever is connected to it) to drive dry over the midas or wet through the heat and in stereo, through the studio mode of the ot.
there is even an aux free again and at some point I can add a nice delay pedal next to the space - perfect. I do not need more. i like the mixer because of the eq. even if it’s a cheap mixer, they work really well.
nothing needs to be done on the master. that comes at the very end anyway, when it comes to mastering.
