Seems it doesn’t have an official mapping for ableton, and possibly doesn’t even work that well with it at all. I can only find like 2 reddit posts on the topic.
something like this (in left hand) & mouse (in right hand) if it was actually designed for / by ableton could be an amazing interface, rather than keyboard n mouse.
the button combo paradigm it uses with its official mappings (for certain drawing apps etc) reminds me of M8 tracker.
anyhow. I sorta gather it’s a non-runner with ableton, just waffling here
You can apply TourBox to literally any software on macOS and Windows.
Whether you create in Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, Blender, Zbrush, Ableton Live, Pro Tool, organize your work in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, XMind, Chrome, or chill at iTunes and Spotify.
yea i get that you cAn use it with it but how well does it integrate I wonder. there’s no official mapping, n I suspect there are certain things you can’t do with it etc. Just seeing if anyone’s actually used it.
yea the editor seems pretty comprehensive, I just wonder how integrated it could be mapped to ableton, until I see it. it’d be amazing if you could navigate the entire ui with combos.
I saw they replied to an ableton question in one of their advert comments section saying you can’t control plugins in ableton with it, but they didn’t explain further. Just a brief comment.
Yes I don’t think you can control plugins like a standard midi controller but, if it emulates the mouse clicks and moves you can probably twist knobs, a little bit like this controller : https://www.nobcontrol.com
I’ve actually just chalked down 380 Europeans for a loupedeck CT. looking forward to giving it a go with ableton.
the default ableton integration looks pretty extensive. I really like that you can use it in arrangement view too, which is where I spend a lot of my time. navigate, chop, paste, duplicate, zoom, all that good stuff.
whether it’s going to be a more enjoyable experience vs keyboard shortcuts remains to be seen, I’ll report back
nice, I’ve never used a trackball mouse. they’re intriguing. I used a logitech mx 2s for a while but I find it clunky with music software. the mappable buttons location is awkward n the horizontal scroll wheel I find isn’t great in use. I’ll be checking out a few more mice in the new year. I’ll defo check out the elecom
