Hardware synth with wave folding or cool modulation

Without going modular, what are the hardware synth options with built in wave folding or other cool modulation things like some of the nice Max for Live devices or intellijel metropolis (Edit: Atlantis… which I thought has a wavefolder, but it doesn’t, just some brilliant modulation options)?

Edit 2: Atlantis sounds awesome… but I have no interest at all in getting into modular https://youtu.be/Io5V1LT34qI?feature=shared

Max for Live is virtual modular, and Metropolis is a sequencer. Am I wrong?
So how about a Neutron into a Nifty Case with an fold6 Module?

can recommend

Wavefolding is on several semi-modulars, including Taiga, West Pest, and Arturia’s minibrutes (as “metallizer”). Mavis has it too but it’s not directly cv-controllable (I modded mine for it, but in general Mavis, with no midi, is more of a modular affair).

Edit: O-Coast, too. Its multiplier circuit is like a folder but with more going on under the hood, and its modulation possibilities for it are excellent.

This bad boy:

I have the Argon8M specifically for its ability to being able to wavefold after filter and filter distortion
(I chose Argon over Cobalt since the Cobalt8M does not have filter distortion)

west pest or 0-coast maybe?

Minifreak has a wave folder oscillator. Waldorf M also got one in a resent update. Modeled after the Braids one. These are hybrid synths though.

Majella’s Implexus is equipped with a wavefolder, non-surprisingly.

Malekko Manther is a good and relatively cheap hardware/non-modular option.

It now has the filter drive since the V2 update!

Sorry meant Atlantis!.. which I thought had wave folding!

All the recent Pittsburgh Modular have wave folders, west pest is the cheapest, for a little more you can get a used microvolt or a tiaga and get way more. The new voltage lab is expensive but so so worth it if you can afford it.

I don’t think it has a wave folder though does it?

“The Manther has SH-101 style architecture with extra features like a tunable sub oscillator, wave-folder and built in delay effect”

This looks interesting. Hadn’t heard of it before. Thanks

Yeah these are both on my possible list. Thanks. But they’re niche. Not sure how useful they’ll be generally?

This looks great… but very expensive… a bit over my budget at the moment. Thanks

This looks like a nice 101 clone. Thanks

Tiaga looks really cool thanks. Nearly bought a Pittsburg synth a few years ago. Will have a look again at what they have on offer at the mo.

i own both and love em
the west pest has a neat lil sequencer

i had alot of fun with a tr8s and the west pest

both have a distinctive sound, less variety maybe than a roland s1 for example. but they are totally different beasts. depends on what you want
