I can’t believe a year has passed since I started this thread last year! But, someone has to keep our traditions alive! Especially the ones like this, filled with purpose, and pointfullness (yes I made it up but it makes sense right?)!
The Best Holiday of the year is upon us again!
It deserves a new thread!
So from deep within my belly I wish you a very Happy GroundHog Day!
May I present: Punxsutawney Phil, Seer of Seers, Sage of Sages, Prognosticator of Prognosticators, and Weather Prophet Extraordinary
Punxsutawney Phil has seen his shadow today so you can expect 6 more weeks of winter.
It’s basically guaranteed! (Ignore that he’s been wrong more than right, this time he will be right!)
…it’s been quite a while since i enjoyed the movie again…
anybody got a clue, where to stream it these days…?
netflix really should not miss out on this kind of everlasting traditional meets realtime option in some limited exclusive fashion…
and puh…another 6 weeks !?..that means for us in berlin, not real white winter magic, but further more nasty cold wet grey overall feel of standing in a nerve and mood wrecking waiting line for spring finally to arrive…
and suffering from the good old truth that dry minus 10 never feels as cold as ugly wet plus 2…hmmmmpf…
but hey…whenever spring might show it’s first signs of beauty again this year…2022 will be the global post pandemic year ZERO…tripple YEEHAA YEAH…
The “famous” groundhog by town recently died just before Groundhog Day. Looks like I’ll be in this day forever. I’ll keep you all posted as I master my day to 100% efficiency, or wallow in my temporal purgatory sadly pressing my OT freeze delay for eternity.
My favorite viewing of Groundhog Day has to be with the Buddhist sangha I sat with for a few years. Our instructor loved the movie, and showed it on Groundhog Day to remind us of the importance of mindfulness and samsara.
I haven’t been able to watch the movie without thinking of that again.
