Happy accidents with the Octatrack

I had a recording of frogs going on T1 (it was the rec buffer) and I had laid down some trigs and P locks to get it sounding neat.

Somehow I overlooked this and recorded a piano sample over rec 1 to T1!

My first thought was “aw shit I gotta do this again” but I was actually so pleased with how the piano sounded I just left it, then re-recorded the frogs to T2. It made me want to experiment with loading random samples to tracks that are already P locked, trigged, effected etc., just to see what cool sound might come out I hadn’t thought of.

How about you guys?

About 50-75 percent of anything I do on the octatrack is an accident. Just last night I accidentally pointed a flex machine to a recorder buffer I didn’t even know had anything in it, and wham my song/jam went an entirely new direction. Luv it!
