This online synth magazine has the most well-written, insightful reviews of gear as well as amazing sound examples of each synth they write about. I am in no way affiliated with it, but I just want my fellow Elektronauts to know about, because it’s an awesome site and I want it to stay alive. It’s probably the labor of love of one single synth enthusiast, but he/she is a talented mo-fo. Please check it out, i think you’ll like it…

I agree that that site is great! very thorough reviews/overviews of various synths. and they tell it within the context of what else you could compare it to and why, but also clearly have adoration for the machines they feature. hence the site name. the audio examples are great, even if I sometimes don’t like the actual style of the music; they’re featuring the capabilities of the synth well.
another site I really like that’s “synth love” related is the one below. they are more tech oriented but will talk heavily about what makes a particular synth great/interesting, both inside and out. the site seems dormant now but hopefully they’ll pick things back up again someday…

If I recall, greatsysnthesizers had a pre-cursor that disappeared. I don’t think they repeated any of the content but it was surely the same people based from what I recall.
