Great performance sampler to pair with drum machine?

Hi all!
I’m just building a new live set up from scratch. Recently purchased the Roland TR8S which is great for hands on playing. What I now need is a performance orientated sampler mostly for playing tracks/stems. The material isn’t that loop based - more like ‘traditional’ songs in terms of form.
I also play keys so I don’t want anything too menu-divey ideally.
I’ve had a look at the options (Octatrack, MPC Live, Pioneer SP-16 etc.) and can’t decide!
Hope one of you might be able to suggest a good option for me…
Cheers!

Bought a mc-707 recently. Can’t decide yet if it will complement or replace the TR-8S…
If you play keys, the mc-707 has tons of great patches.

You mention “traditional songs” which can be a problem with many machines as they don’t have a song mode. The MPC Live has it though.

Interesting. Thanks for your input. Any experience with the SP-16 by any chance?
Cheers

I never used the sp16.

octatrack can at least stream long audio files. It’s a “performance sampler” no doubt but might be OTT if all you want to do is play backing tracks…

How about the 404A? The TR8S can sequence it.
