Granular hardware : options?

Tempera now allows for live input.

The Intellijel Multigrain module, just released, will have a “live mode” added in an upcoming firmware update. But all such modes are reading from a buffer of past audio; it’s just that the buffer is being continuously recorded into (so like a loop with 100% overdub) as opposed to a static sample.

Lemondrop allows you to go granular on live input and you can treat the live input as a synth and change the note, play it polyphonically etc

jumped late on the granular stuff train but i managed to catch a nebulae 2 on reverb ( since i think a lot of people are gasing on the new multigrain ) like new for 360€. i’m glad i did.
It can process live audio , record loop; overdub /punch in buffer, read 75 mo from usb on top of 5min buffer of 48hz 24 bit audio, save buffer to USB and load other intruments from csound, aternative firmware and pure data patch. it doesn’t have multigrain 8 samples but i find intellijel digital modules hard to use and remenber all the combo anyway ( user of shapeshifter here ).

The Multigrain Eurorack module from Intellijel did get a short mention up thread, but will give it a full post for comparison.

I picked this short, non comprehensive, sound only video to show some of its abilities. Bonjour.

Did you mean to ask this as a general question about granular synth options ? If so look up thread here.

There is also the granular software options thread too.

Could you please tell me more about this process?

I would if I still had the DT…
If I recall well, I was using one LFO for the start point of the sample and another for the loop position of the sample. With very little amplitude.
Sorry I cannot get more precise.

I tried it and it kinda works, but I didn’t try look position. I experienced a lot of clicks , maybe loop position will help with that?

Try adding a little bit or AMP Attack to get rid of the clicks

Yep, did this and it helped. It sounds OK but surely enough it is far from a real granular sound
