Good quality piano module? Reface CP?

Hey gang
I’ve been meaning to get a Reface CP but haven’t had a few other things on the list.
Wondering, is the Reface CP piano good, or does it sound fake? I know their Rhodes sounds quite nice for the price, and that delay looks fun!
Are there any other small, good sounding, preferably inexpensive, strictly piano hardware desktop modules? Something with a few different sounds would be nice (hall, grand, upright etc).
Thanks in advance!

Pretty sure CP is all electric pianos - with the weird exception of an undocumented acoustic piano sound when you set the knob between official presets…

Yeah it has one “hidden” acoustic piano sound.

There’s this:

You’d have to listen to some demos to see if the E-mu piano sounds are up to the standard you’re looking for.

You could try and find a Roland module if you want top quality - eg their Integra units with the Supernatural engine. Probably huge overkill if you only want a decent piano though.

There are these too:

VIVO SX7

right yeah i’m suuuper into the thing, just wondering about the actual piano patch, specifically.

yeah found that with the ol google search but you’re right to mention the sound… was not for me.

that SX7 sounds amazing! but damn… just about €1000.
lovely thing and exactly what i want, though. thanks for the great tip!

going to give the reface a go. if it’s too… stiff or fake sounding, i’ll start saving my spacebucks for that thing!

Hold you horses @allandbyallo!
What about the Roland racks?? There are plenty, well about 3, and won’t cost you as much as any of these. They were used all over 90’s records. They sound great!
There’s even a half rack Roland Sound Canvas that is recommend also.

You may have made up your mind and judging by my feels for excitement, they’ll be no turning you back lol nothing wrong with that I just wondered if small keys bothered you at all? Is it keys you need? Do you have any keys? Could save space without them. They’ll might be rendered useless for you in the future if you buy or have a midi controller to control all of your modules.

I barely play and although the refaced have velocity sensitivity, they lack aftertouch.

Roland 1080

Roland Sound Canvas has piano sounds and loads more

nice one thanks! no i don’t need keys, i have the novation sl mkiii and i think that’s the last midi controller i’ll ever need  rack or module is perfect, though certainly a small desktop module is ideal.
i’ll check this out, thank you so much!
