10 just got listed in their store, per their IG account.
hope you’re quick @ESIS_Labs, 4 white ones left at time of posting https://glou-glou.org/product/loupe-white/
@captain8 have you seen the looper module in Poly Beepo? A tiiiiny bit closer to looking like the polyend tracker (well… sort of), has all the Echoplex features that make Loupe cool
will have to give the Beepo another look, thanks
much thanks pal!
well, that was a miracle, and I too late to witness — 2hrs after you’d messaged here, them all were gone
much thanks
no luck though, missed those, despite 4 units were on sale 2hrs before I’d seen messages here
on a bright and even more miraculous side, it looks like I’ve found a secondhand blue one locally. now trying to fix the deal
and strange as it is, but they seem to be more or less frequent at Reverb…
so I guess it’s a question of time. never would’ve thought, it’s like… five hundred in the wild only?
a dream device that’d be. or better, Loupe+Octa functions in Polyend Play formfactor with a slider, analog od+filter, good pads, full midi, some cvs and better sequencing options ))
Dang, hope you can close the Reverb purchase!
thanks but nope, the local one is via some forums, not the Reverb
and btw it’s starting looking more and more like an (unprofessional) scam too…
To be honest, waiting for the MKII (which I think I saw the Glou Glou guy say might come out next year) might be a better choice anyway, since it should have a MIDI implementation. My biggest complaint about the thing is that, as much as I can sync other things to Loupe in terms of clock, I can’t sequence recording/overdubbing/multiplying or the readFX or anything like this. It also really feels like it should be under my foot sometimes, but then you really need it at hand level at others - if there was MIDI you could have something at your feet and your hands but you can’t. In terms of feature set it’s a wonderful, unique device, but in terms of usability the MK I is flawed. I will probably sell mine as soon as the MK II appears to be a real, existing thing.
That’s interesting. I didn’t know there was a mk2 in the works. I totally agree with you about UI. It’s such a powerful device but I feel like I needed to build a whole mini-set-up around it, it can’t really slot into my other gear.
Tried to track down the forum post where it was said but I can’t remember what forum I read it on! But on Glou Glou’s own Loupe forum there’s a subform called MKII Wish List with the description
we’re planning a MkII version of Loupé. It will have MDI control and sync and will be a desktop device.
don’t expect it before 2023.
So maybe not 2023 for sure, but certainly not 2022 MIDI control would make a world of difference for me though. I remember when it was first announced he explained that implementing MIDI clock was too difficult because of the way manipulating the lengths of loops interacts with quantization and that’s why he didn’t want to do a MIDI implementation. But tbh I just want to shoot it CC saying “record now” or “multiply now”. I can live with Loupe only being master clock personally, and it being a pulse sync was OK for me because of my modular.
Edit: Found it https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/glou-glou-loupe-i-actually-managed-to-nab-one.2255594/post-34271426
A little post to give you infos about what we’re planning for the next months/year !
We’ll be back to R&D for Loupé in April/May and we will release an updated OS with new Functionalities in June. It will be free. At the same time there will be another batch of 100 Loupé. (with legendary marks)
Then we will start to work on Loupé MK2. (new hardware, midi control, pedal and desktop versions, midi clock out but no midi slave) but it’s gonna take some time, don’t expect a release before … i’d say mid 2023.
I’d hold out @ESIS_Labs, sounds like there’ll be a new batch along with the firmware v soon
thanks for that info too!
I was aware that mk2 w/MIDI should come out one day, but haven’t heard about the new f/w. makes me very happy for the future )
and yet, I’ll keep hunting for an mk1 still — it’s easy to flash f/w, and while MIDI cc’s are very desirable, I’m sure I can live without it — for a year definitely, mid-2023 (or rather, end-of-year, I guess) is far enough. and honestly, I can’t live without Loupe, as even in its current state it’s just exactly what’s needed for the music I’m making, no other device can fit that hole (and I’ve had an Octatrack for like seven years, more or less versed in Mac and iPad loopers-samplers, etc).
Loupes available again @ESIS_Labs https://glou-glou.org/product/loupe-white/ 38 in total
thanks for the reminder, very grateful for that!
preordering now
Yessss, glad you got it! Enjoy, it’s a great pedal
Hello, there!
Just closed a deal for a second hand hardly used unit. I was on the fence because of a MkII version, that won’t see the light until end of 2024 (according to its maker) so I jumped in.
Should be at my studio on wednesday…can’t wait.
In the meantime I have read the manual and looked at Andre LaFosse’s YT playlist to get better informed.
If any of you has any cannot miss video or else, please let me know!
Thanks
d^_^b
apart from Andre, the official Glou-Glou series on Loupe is an excellent manual
glad to hear about mk2 is on the way, 15 months is good enough… will keep my mk1 even when mk3 comes
Guys, good morning. I cannot understand if the Undo function has also a Redo. Because it displays previous event and next event.
From what I gather I believe there is not such Redo. But only the use of Scroll to move back and forth…with limited functions until it gets applied.
Thanks for your help
EDIT
from what I’ve learned so far, there is not a Redo function (even if after pressing Undo, I can see [previous] action and [next] action on the LCD, that’s why I get tempted to have such a function)
Just a bump because there is the new OS with a lot of new features!
oh this is awesome!!
thank you for the bump cuz i was i unaware and am now at max stoke.
rytm, microfreak, and loupé are all fresh to me and work is slow. ‘tis time to dig in
