It sounds beautiful!
Cool. Thatās one proper oddball. Is it a pitch-to voltage device? Sounds like itās controlled with a guitar. Three oscillators and an onboard rungler? ![]()
I think so. Nothing on their website yet
I donāt see this taking anyone too much closer to finishing tracks but it has a nice sound on processing the guitar and I like the enclosure design.
I think it would inspire a lot of new music! Not a distraction from āfinishing tracksā at all.
Have at it then, chief.
Finishing tracks? People do that?
Oh huh, a Benjolin influenced guitar pedal? Good pun.
It is a good pun. But I wonder who the target audience is. Runglers are obscure even in Eurorack land.
runglers rule and should be in more things, i like the concept. im thinkin they could be good additions to the granular world
Iāve spent a lot of time researching rungler circuits and building my own versions of them for various different goals.
This seems like a great idea, but the sounds in that demo are shit and donāt really showcase what I feel are the core sort of sounds that a benjolin is capable of.
This just sounds like an envelope filter with a mild fuzz and an octaver. Not too exciting really. I suppose it can do more with all the patch points and stuff?
Looks cool though ![]()
The demo just sounds like a Fuzz Factory set to āfart modeā. ![]()
Pisses me off man.
Musicians work hard and toil for months and get no respect.
These fuckers set their pedal to warbleshart, noodle about for 5 minutes and everyone soils themselves in the comments like theyāre witnessing Jimi at Woodstock.
No wonder everyoneās riding the fucking gear trainā¦
That would have been awesome!
sounds like farts
Agreed, thereās little or no interaction with the controls so if you donāt know what a benjolin is it just seems like a synth pedal with bad tracking. I knew Rob Hordijk a little when I lived at the Netherlands (enough to stay at his home a few times) and he liked to tweak his patches/circuits (a lot of his ideas were prototyped on the Nord Modular which he knew inside out and had some input to Claviaās team).
This looks like an interesting device in terms of design and patchability, but I want to hear a more adventurous/exploratory demo thatās less farty.
Man was a genius, and with the blippoo box coming back into production, Meng Qi honouring his legacy and all the Euororack builders carrying on developing on the benjolin, it seems totally logical that someone would make a pedal as well.
But if youāre going to do it, for fuck sake demonstrate what it can doā¦
ā¦it only sound shit because itās output signal is not drowning in reverb and delay like pretty much anything else that wants/needs to make a good first impressionā¦
so, at least one xtra point for letting an unmasked naked signal just speak for itselfā¦
and one xtra point for itās nameā¦
