Gig active speakers recommendations

I’ve been toying with the idea for a long time, and now I am in a position where I would need 2 active speakers to play in bars and medium places with friends.

I already have Thomann’s CL 112 sub, and a mixtable.

I am looking forward to buying a pair of second-hand Electro Voice ZLX 15 (one with BT) for 700€.

What do you think of these?
I think it’s a decent price, isn’t it?
Any aspects I should check before buying?

I have the Everse 8, which is a similar speaker but able to run battery powered. Highly recommended. Sounds amazing. EV is quality stuff. It can get really really loud and still sound very clear.

as you’re mentioning playing in bars, i guess you probably won’t need to be worried much about reproducing detailed sounds, which will be lost in the bar’s noise anyway. the ones you posted here seem to be fairly ok for such venues, you’ll have to carry them around though :smile_cat:

I have Yamaha bt 400, but i would go for a QSC system if i could choose again, preferably used

I also want to train at home on decent gig speakers, to polish my sound on something else than my precise monitors ^^
But yeah, I believe these could be good enough speakers.

RCF for powered speakers. QSC are great as well, but I’d prefer RCF.

i would second RCF too, you could also check what dB Technologies has to offer, i’ve seen those in few places and didn’t sound too bad

The ZLX 15 are home and installed.
I have still to eq them properly to match my monitors better, but wow, feels good to play loud
