BEATBOXER from MOSAIK 36 Tracks Groovebox:
Fred’s Lab has a new synth that they will show at SFF. ( post ) !!
ADDED :
I’m going to put this here, where, I think, it belongs. The AW NOISE MAKER is a noise glitched synth still in progress and may someone find it interesting enough to check it ouy…

I for one would like to see a mono Hydra. Two or three Hydra voices with a fully fledged sequencer and maybe some FX nailed on. I’d buy one (and I’ve already got an OG Hydrasynth)
They could even make it 8 voice, maybe 4 sequencer tracks and the ability to share the voice count across the tracks. Like a mini Hydra groovebox
Entropy & Sons is developing a new hardware version, their Recursion Studio 4K ( thread ), and will be developing new software for it over the course of the next year or so. ( “Early Access” means software improvements in process. ) The new software will give 100s of new modules, and a completely redesigned UI.
Recursion Studio 4K
The New Hardware
- 10x PROCESSING POWER OF THE ORIGINAL RECURSION STUDIO
- 8x RAM
- 64GB dedicated hard drive for storage of video clips. User expandable with any NVME drive.
- Improved LCD panel. Larger, higher refresh rate & improved touch panel.
- Dedicated 4k HDMI input jack. Will also come with an auxiliary HDMI–>USB capture card for video mixing or streaming into a computer.
- Improved CV ADCs. Up to 1 million samples per second across all 8 channels. Bipolar -5v to 5v. Can connect 192kHz stereo audio rate signals (to the CV jacks) and use the synth to render oscilloscope music.
- Higher sample rate audio input.
- Higher quality encoders
- Compact 1/8" MIDI I/O jacks
- Onboard WIFI
- Thinner profile
- Two HDMI outputs.
- Improved buttons.
- Slightly higher price.
The deneb multifunction drone synth from drone-department .
What they could put together is a two voice synth, each voice with two of the HS wave scan oscillators, plus a noise source with filter, plus a highly capable multi-sample playback engine, each voice with its own separate 15 mode filter, amp, EQ, and insert effect, plus more. It wouldn’t have any of the mutants though, but it does include a Mod-Matrix with HS like modulation control.
You can put the two voices together for a mono synth, or separate for a two part synth ( or do a binaural mono synth too ). ADDED : It would be easy enough to get a four voice ( two times two paraphonic ) from the four separate wave scan oscillators too. Or six …
This is using the new core they made for the Diosynth. Obviously they would record a new sample library for it rather than all the wind samples. ( What sorts of things would you sample for that library ? )
Perhaps they could pull in the sequencer tech they developed for the Leviasynth too.
It just makes engineering sense for ASM to reuse development and engineering in another product to amortize that development cost over a larger product base.
I suppose a keyboard like the one on the Explorer could be part of this. I had supposed a guitar like controller with pads in another post. Or perhaps a Eurorack module ?
This is all pure speculation of course, mixed with a little bit of a hw sw development engineer’s experience.
More info and discussion in this thread :
The companies name is Auxy.
Looks like PPG wants in on the PPG revival. 2.3 reissue with updates coming this year apparently.
PPG is at SynthFest France this coming week.
Chris at Sound Workshop has decided to cease development of the Wiggler and cancel the project. This product was very far along in development, having gone through Beta testing.
Instead he has decided to focus the company’s resources on the development of a completely new product, based on the historic instrument, the Trautonium ( see queued video ).
In the video he discusses the Trautonium and show his proof of concept prototype for this product, using a canabalized Otamatone and parts left over from his other projects. From the video i am guessing that his Trautonium will be polyphonic ( ? ).
( Actually the Otamatone seems like a good donor for a DIY touch sensor strip project, especially if you find one used. )
I’m a little disappointed the Wiggler project got killed. It seemed an interesting product that had some potential. ADDED : Perhaps instead of killed i should have said, postponed indefinitely.
ADDED ( June 9th ) : This is now a full product to be released, eventually, and called the Flexur T2. ( thread )
Fractaos
Four voice stereo polyphonic ( from MIDI or CV ) using self-similar shapes, fractal waveform oscillators, and it’s own ADSR envelopes. It also has an eight oscillator drone mode.
This is not for everyone. It is capable of unusual and complex sound. From their description :
Each curve can be selected and shaped through the control of chaos and calculation depth. From there, you can work on the relationship between the two forms through morphing, detune, chords (in Drone mode), texture, formant extraction, resonant filtering, simplified FM modulation, LFO behavior, envelope control, or offsets applied to the main parameters.
Available now for preorder.
TiNRS has a keyboard synth in development.
Bigfish
This is a rendering, imo, more a representation, rather than a product image. This synth is still more than a year off.
The interface to this synth is meant to be layered ( as opposed to modular, though it can be modular within layers ). It can be approached at four levels.
- Making Music - For musicians – making music, playing with the onboard sounds
- Making Sound - For sound designers – making new sounds from presets
- Making Synth - For synth designers - making new onboard modular software synthesizers
- Making DSP - For programmers - making the DSPs to makes the sounds - the math of making music
You can take things at whatever level or combination of levels you desire.
In addition they will be using the Bink Keybed in their design ( from Binkhorst Creation ), which allows you to physically adjust the action of your keybed. ( post #1 ) ( post #2 )
Binkhorst Creations with PDF on keybed.
It is possible they will have information, or a small brochure at Superbooth 2026 but i don’t, at this point, expect to see any hardware prototype.
ADDED : Another modular maker getting into synth making. Magnolia, and Echon 6.
ADDED : This marks a change for TiNRS as they are getting out of Eurorack modular, and discontinuing those for production.
ADDED : Opinion : If done right, i’ll dump my Osmose for this.
LAUNCHING ON KICKSTARTER SOON - EARLY UNITS US$179 (RETAIL $249) - JOIN FOR EARLY ACCESS
I just learned about this because of this video:
They have a handful of short videos demoing a prototype.
that looks nice
Damn. I was rooting for this one, met Chris and got to try the Wiggler out at Superbooth last year (or was it two years ago?) and found it to be actually innovative, intuitive, and just… fun! Bummer.
Nice looking design. I like the idea of the different knob heights. Smart.
even as a controller, this would be wicked. Would love a style like this for a midi controller of sorts
