This is using the same “Flexur” technology that Chris pioneered for his Wiggler ( design work now discontinued ), which uses linear Hall effect sensors. To this a ribbon sensor has been added, and the whole apparatus duplicated for the second part, for two floating touch bars. The Wiggler was digital, the Flexur T2 is hybrid digital as well.

ADDED : Given how fast these are selling i expect this may sell out the 100 unit crowdfund pretty quickly.
I definitely want this but I think I will wait until there are independent review from the likes of Loopop or Cuckoo. Since this is a brand new concept, there are a number of things that might not be to your liking. For instance, how easy is it to play real music in reality? I will wait until they are available at retailers here in Europe.
By the way, the colour scheme remind me of sixties typewriters…

This is all a very early prototype. It is likely a couple of years from retail. So everything you see may change. He’s mainly playing an instrument with a hand written surface interface.

There is no production model yet. Way too early. It’s still fluid in design.
If that’s the case, I think it’s way too early to place an order. Even a pre-order.
However, I hope it will look like in the rendered images.
It’s not really a pre-order. It’s a crowdfund, or crowfund as it says on the website. There is that kind of risk with this.
Strangely enough, I can’t find a link to Kickstarter or other way to order it, on their website.

I’ve been following Chris and Sound Workshop / Wiggler stuff for years and I think he’s finally hit on a form factor that can be a successful instrument. I spoke to him briefly last year at Superbooth and my impression of what was holding him back on releasing Wiggler: it was a very fun and very cool demo to play with but not truly an instrument. I hope this has great success and can get over the finish line.
I’ve backed it, perhaps taking on too much risk, but it certainly is something that looks more uniquely inspiring than another great sounding analog poly. Maybe it would pair nicely with an Svennson 49, they both have a bit of that Love Hultén DNA in their panels.

Do you mean as far as color choices, or the uncluttered controls, and the lack of a screen ( though a tiny screen was added to Nopia later in the design ), or something else. I’m interested in your take on this.
