I wanted to purchase this spring reverb in the future to be part of my octatrack output chain, but saw that it’s mono. I’m running stereo effects (boum, pyramid) on the outs and would like to the light pedal at the end of the chain. The only way I could do stereo is to buy 2 pedals, otherwise I’m stuck converting back down to mono which I’d rather not do. Would it make sense to run two separate TRS to TS cables through two light pedals and back out to the stereo channel on the mixer to retain my stereo setup? Kind of an expensive endeavor to do that but might be worth a shot.
Hopefully they came up with stereo pedals in the future
The Gamechanger reverb has lots of strong reviews, and the demos I’ve heard sound great, but two of them seems like a pricey proposition. There are lots of outstanding stereo reverbs you can purchase for considerably less than the price of two of these. The new Big Sky Mx comes to mind, Erica Nightverb, Meris Mercury X, the Eventide Space, etc. All of these would be cheaper than 2 x Gamechanger and are explicitly setup for stereo making them easier to operate.
Their “Auto” series looks interesting. They’re not true analog pedals like their Light Pedal, but they allow for some simple patching, there’s a switch to choose between instrument, line and eurorack level input, and they can be powered with either 9V or USB-C. I’d be interested to hear your experience if you end up buying one!
correct, unfortunately it’s a digi pedal and the options are limited for the spring in comparison to the light pedal. It’s a strong consideration and so now it’s between DbA Rooms and auto-reverb. If I can find deals on used light pedals, i still might end up grabbing two, but for now one of the aforementioned will suffice. Def will post some vids with my setup if i get auto-reverb
I’m aiming for quirky and weird for my drums or leads. Intended use is not ambient, hence i gravitated towards light pedal with it’s feature set. looking to do some electro-techno-deep housey breakey punk, so not doing the typical ambient stuff
If you look at the second hand market, the picture changes and two Lights would be cheaper. At least around my way. I have actually also considered buying a second one with the same intentions as the OP (not Octatrack specifically, just general stereo use case). And even though the pedals mentioned above are awesome I’m sure they don’t really do the same thing as the Light. But yeah, a dual mono setup would be a bit fiddly for sure. Which is one of the reasons why I haven’t done it yet
