Still new to A4 mk2 and been working too much and not enough time to figure this out…
why is there a dedicated fx “track” as compared to the Rytm mk2 just a selection button…
Can I sequence the fx some how ? Why is it a dedicated track?

sure, you can p-lock the fx parameters!
also there are dedicated lfos on that track and it can have its own midi channel
also external audio input controls
Ok so you could sequence the delay time or something like that?
thought u could just do that on the synth track…
Not sure what u mean by own midi channel tbh…
Think I’m bit confused because just got Rytm as well and it doesn’t have a fx “track”
You can use the FX track as the second lane for CV sequencing - so you can have 6 fully independent sequences controlling pitch/gate
Yes, I believe you are confused as well.
Rytm has an FX track.
It’s just not ergonomically “bundled” with the synth tracks, that way it is on the A4.
But it has the same FX parameter sequencing capabilities.
Hit the FX button.
Welcome to the FX track!
Now lay some trigs with p-locks.
Ok so they are the same…
finally will have some time to tomorrow to try sequence some fx…
It’s very powerful for sound design and general coolness. One of the things I miss the most when I play on the smaller digi boxes
How exactly is it six by the way? I sort of use the A4 that way, and I’ve been trying to figure out how to get more out of it… I have yet to experiment with other CV modes like step and don’t know what that’s for, yet.
I’ve just been using the CV track to sequence pitch v/oct and gate of one oscillator and the FX track to sequence the pitch v/oct and gate of another oscillator. That’s CV A, B, C and D. What are the other two things you speak of?
Synth tracks 1-4, FX track and CV track can all be set as source for the cv/gate outputs.
That’s the six sources the cv/gate outputs AB and CD can be sequenced from.
You still have four cv/gate outs ofc.
Hope I got that right, never used my AK for sequencing with cv…
Yes that’s what i mean - didn’t intend to convey extra CV functionality, just to say that the inclusion of an FX track allows the A4K to sequence from all its tracks exploiting all the control outputs (4 cv signals) - 4 internal sequenced and 2 external (each requiring a pair, thus the mentioning of pitch/gate)
