yesterday I upgraded the octatrack mkI to the latest os version. My first complaining it’s that FUNCTION + YES is not working for previewing samples.
Sorry if it’s a commented question in here before but I don’t know what I am missing.

Works fine here, check your settings, mute etc.
Check your fx settings. If you can hear a sample trig on your track, you should be able to hear it with preview.
Menu System > Personalize
PREVIEW WITHOUT FX will when unchecked preview samples through the track effects of the active track. If checked, track effects will not affect the previewed sample.
Thanks I’ll check my configuration. I’m pretty sure I choosed the option to preview without fx sound. Maybe the track is affected with some scene.
anyway, this night I’ll review everything.
Might be worth saving then reloading the project, I had some different weirdness when I first updated that a save/reload fixed.
That was the first thing I had to do in fact. After upgrading my project was in the compact flash but not saved on the fly as it goes normally. So, I guess it should be a scene.
had some (very) little issues with other button combinations too (like copy paste pages, changing banks/patterns, etc…had to repeat one or two times to make it work) but everythings fine now. EDIT: i didn´t do anything, that only happened with the first project i started after update.
Having checked the configuration all is working properly.

I am having this problem now as well.
The only things I have done differently recently is that I am experimenting with using the Octatrack to do DJ sets so I am using a lot of static machines for the first time. I also removed the Compact Flash card (while the unit was turned off) to check it then reinserted it.
I have tried all the above suggestions. I tried changing sets and back again. It doesn’t work on older projects where it previously worked. I have also done a system check, and an Empty Reset, all to no avail.
I have not updated the OS since 1.03C last year and I have used it several times since then with no problems.
I am just having to hope that, having mysteriously stopped working, it might mysteriously start working again at some point. I can work around it by using the trig buttons but its absence is a real pain.
Hi Techno_Mystic in my case it worked apparently without doing nothing. Switching off and on and that’s all.
Just one sugestion, try upgrading OS.
