Footswitch for remote recording in your DAW

Is anyone here using a footswitch in their DAW setup to start and stop the recording ? There’s many times where my gear is so far from the computer that I can’t reach my computer in time.

Could the Nektar Pacer be what I’m looking for ?

Which DAW?

Admittedly have a Pacer I’ve barely used: a little experimentation with the Octatrack and that’s it but it has a lot of cool functionality - just haven’t applied it as of yet.

Ableton 11 and cubase 12

If you have Ableton Push, a simple keyboard sustain pedal can be connected to one of the inputs for start-stop recording which is quite nice

Just got an Morningstar MC8 again. Not got round to programming it for Ableton yet, but should do this week. There’s not much that pedal can’t do and the programming is pretty easy and incredibly customisable.

You can run the editor in demo mode to see what it’s like

Other thing to. Insider would be a Push 2 for Ableton and a cheep footswitch.
