I like to whisk sesame oil into Dijon and toasted sesame seeds, black pepper, lil honey…
Dip roasted pork into that…
I will definitely do that.
Goddamnit!
Encroiable!!
That’s pretty funny
Bravo!
Looks nice! I love bok choy - which the forum software keeps wanting to auto-correct to “boo chow”.
Just curious, what’s the round thing towards the bottom of the pic? Patty of some sort, or maybe a portobello mushroom?
Oh wait, is that the celery formed into a round patty? If so, I guess I was thrown off by the shape. ![]()
Yes, exactly. I cut the celery in thick slices so that it doesn’t take hours to bake it
My mother-in-law, a savvy cook, uses the microwave oven to warm the vegetable (fennel or celeri) then put it in the pan with olive oil and garlic, and braise it (with the lid on for the first minutes).
This is way faster than my early attempts, I always do this now.
Microwaves are, generally, a vastly under-utilized appliance
microwaves vs health
Ahah yeah. I have many people around me that think it is very bad for the health.
When asked about some info about this, they usually say “it’s waves, you know”.
Well, thing is I do know microwaves seat comfortably between any color you like, or even your own body heat, and FM radio waves. All electromagnetic waves…
That they damage health is information that would be really precious, but I have failed to find it so far. Ditching the microwaves altogether with X-rays at the other side of the spectrum is… how to put this… A “belief”?
And how do you heat your pasta leftovers then?
Plastic is certainly not neutral.
But microwave ovens?
So handy ![]()
This looks killer!
Would like to try this out. But unfortunately I don’t have a microwave. However, with the slices that were around 2 cm thick it took 20-25 min, which is ok. I guess this would be great to save time if you want to bake the entire thing. Saw some great recipes for this as well
A bit of a sad article. Can’t keep assholes from weaponizing food.
What a strange world we live in. I never imagined such a dark history of weaponizing ham.
I’ll never look at a ham sandwich the same way again.
People are just too much.
Crispy Sheet Pan Tacos!
The tortillas cracked a ton this time but they are so crispy they held together just fine! So easy and good!
8 tacos:
1/2 pound meat (I use chicken or black beans)
1/4 Onion
1 Bell pepper
1/2 taco seasoning packet
Nacho cheese
8 corn tortillas
Lime
Preheat oven 425.
Sauté onion and peppers, add meat, drain.
Return to pan, add 1/2 cup water and seasoning, bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer till water dissolves.
Oil sheet pan so it’s covered - I use avocado oil for its high smoke point. Plus I’m also high!
Heat corn tortillas as directed in microwave Add filling and cheese to tortillas, fold. Place on oiled sheet pan.
Cook 8 minutes, flip. Add cheese on top and cook another 8 minutes. Serve with lime.
The low price of duck legs in Portuguese supermarkets is almost certainly the result of manoeuvring by Big Floss
