Follow tm velocity

Now with 1.4 update, can I make the trig from external midi keyboard in follow trig mode - slice - record the velocity I played for specific trig?

No velocity, and no length recorded.

Possible with a midi processor.

Thanks

@Modus_Op some news from Retrokits?
@grit (Retrokits) it would be great to implement a velocity to CC (choice) in Polymux!

The RK002 that @grit was kind enough to program for me is on its way. My black OT is still on back order though, so I won’t be able to test it out for awhile.

I use my midi keyboard trough an iPad so if ther is a way to implement this feature with some iPad midi manipulation app I would like to know

The Midiflow app might work. Seems to be a Midi processor.

on the /MOD firmware (one of the ‘legacy’ ones) there is already something possible like that, via this page:

You can select extra midi channels to mux and then set (as I understand from Modus_Op ) CC 25 to velocity mapping; that will then be muxed as well

I wonder if someone have a chart ( flow or sketch) for it?

I’m not sure what you mean. There is a Midi chart in the OT manual.

I don’t really know how to write the code for this so if someone already did that I would like to know

You wouldn’t have to write any code if you use a Midi processing app on your iPad. You tell the app what you wish to change about the Midi signal. I’ve never used the app, so I can’t walk you through it, but it shouldn’t be too difficult.

So you say that I just need to convert the value of velocity to the velocity cc of the octatrack track? Will it automatically look the velocity to the trig?

Wish I knew. Maybe @sezare56 can answer your questions. I just bought an RK002 and had it programmed to add CC25 (which in this case is the Amp Volume parameter) to each note on message. I haven’t been able to test it yet as I don’t have the cable or the OT… yet.

Ah sorry, I wasn’t sure, I checked last Polymux.

Lock VOL parameter in fact. So theoretically yes, and I think I already tested it a few years ago. I’ll try to check that with the RK002 when I have a moment.

Just made a test with OT midi loopback.

CCs are recorded on active track, but don’t seem recorded on other tracks (with corresponding channel).

Which means I don’t think it’s possible to record velocity (VOL) on several tracks with Polymux.

Slices plocks are recorded on all tracks.
