Focal Alpha 65 studio monitors... experiences?

Anyone have experience with these? Not the new Evo version, the previous one with twin ports:

How are these in a smaller studio space? The bass extension seems impressive for a smaller monitor.

I used to have the 80s, and my mate has the 65s. They’re incredible for the money imo. Not the most detailed, nor the flattest, but translate very very well. I had the 80s in a small room and they were fine as long as I didn’t turn them up too loud

I’ve been using the 65’s for years, theyre fantastic! I would buy new ones if these ever die. They translate well and are also very nice to just listen to for hours, unlike the genelecs and yamaha’s I’ve used a lot.

A lot of people visiting my studio love the sound of these as well.

I have a pair of 50s and they are more than enough for my small room. Bass is good, and details are crisp. I’ve never done an A/B comparison, though.

I did a minimal amount of research after the Evos came out, and I think that I prefer the Alphas (assuming I actually chose, rather than just buying the Alphas before the Evos came out).

Appreciate the insights.

Someone has a pair locally for $500… there are also a set of Dynaudio BM5 MkIII’s for a little more. I think the Focals might be more revealing in the low end (below 60hz)…
