Hi guys, want to use sidechain function with the 1773. i use the the low tom output of my rytm from my a&h mixer with a mono jack cable into the rnc sidechain input. the tom triggers each downbeat (traditional techno). but there is no compression going, no ducking. if i take of the cable out of sidechain input, there is the standard compression. what am i doing wrong? help would be nice. thx and cheers
Try plugging it in “halfway” or until you feel the first click.
If you look on the back, you’ll see that “Tip = Out” (all the way inserted) and what you want is “Ring = In” (halfway inserted).

I sidekey my RNC all the time from my TR8S. I use a TRS splitter with the right cable plugged into TR8S and the TRS side plugged into the RNC.

That s correct! On the FMR sidechain loop TRS connector, tip is send and ring is receive. So if used as a key input you only need signal on the ring.
Hey that’s a cool solution! Im curious I have a AR and A4, would it be possible splitting the BD output into 2 signals, 1 into the sidechain from the RNC and the other into a Xone96? Im looking into a portable setup on stage
