Soulja boy kinda popularized using FL for trap. It like the go to for producing trap at this point. The very popular snare is totally an FL stock sound.
I just ordered mine now since it comes with FL Studio Fruity Fire Edition. Hopefully, there will be some sort of nice discounted upgrade path to the Signature Edition.
I’ve been tempted by FL studio for a while - it looks so fast and fun to use. This controller is pretty cheap and is probably my gateway into the fruity world.
Slightly off topic, but has anyone made the move from Ableton live to FL studio?
I’ve tried out FL a hand full of of times and as capable as it is the workflow was much too busy for me. Too many windows/menus and parameters to tweak. If you’re into having pretty much unparalleled control of everything in your DAW, it’s an awesome choice, but for those like me I much prefer the minimal approach of Live. Although it this was around 3 years ago at the same price before I started using Live, this would have been a top priority for me.
I still have a copy that I basically just use for ZGameEditor for making 3D visualizations.
I haven’t used fruityloops since 1999-2002. Should check out the current incarnation some day I guess… IIRC fruity was among the first stepsequencers that had microtiming, at least the version I was using at the time had it.
Having checked out the promo video of fire controller, I must admit that fingerdrumming on the fire ctrlr looks awkward. The buttons is way to small! I’d probably use it just for stepsequencing myself.
I’ve been interested in getting this and the script simply for a more portable ableton set up. My Launchpad pro is great but the lack of knobs does get in the way.
