FL Studio Fire by Akai

I think this rumor is true. I also think the new MPD232 successor will be announced at the same time too.

If you can make something good on it, and you are enjoying yourself, forward. One man’s garbage is… You get the idea.

Like it or not, FL Studio’s impact on club music culture is undeniable. AFAIK the ā€Trapā€ snare is from an FL factory sample. Also the Kuduro movement might not ever have started without FL Studio, at least according to one essay I have read.

Upon greater evaluation- I can’t determine if that’s a point for or against FL Studio

Well that is why I said ā€like it or notā€ :nyan:

I gotta admit I’m using it myself these days… but not making trap though :diddly: It’s become a cultural reference symbol, so I feel ā€intellectualā€ using it now lol

Scholastic exploration

I made some of my more rockin music on Fl studio.Quickly,Hardly garbage…

why not keep that to yourself? nobody asked for an opinion on FL Studio, and nobody is forcing you to use it.

irrelevant post.

Doesn’t stop HudMo.

Haters gotta hate…

Been using FL since fruity loops 2…if this rumor is true its cool. I used to dream about a generic controller that would adapt to the settings of what ever channel was selected…any tactile interactive hardware that helps you relate to music in new ways is getting a like from me…

This is the 5th (at least) reply to your post and they’re not about the op topic

In all honesty, let’s try to raise the bar around here, and yes opinion is fine, but add some value - this adds nothing except sourness and creates the above backlash and flags etc resulting in this

A friendly pointer from the guidelines:

If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later

Please avoid: ... Knee-jerk contradiction

also : others … please tend towards use of the flags instead of reacting inline

isn’t the ā€œtrap snareā€ an 808 sample?
I always assumed it was!

User of FL Studio here!

I’m intrigued but afraid that not much will be doable with such a tiny matrix (4x16). Hopefully they’ll have pages implemented. Would be nice also if ratchet on the device would translate accordingly by steps in the piano roll, but, I don’t feel like it will… seems pretty basic.

ā€It’s not a Young Chop Snare, it was included in FL 7 the infamous ā€˜snare (9)’ and also was probably originally sampled from a track by Polow Da Don ā€˜Field Mob - Baby Bend Over’.

Personally I have a love hate relationship with this snare. It’s both overused but unique, like the Amen, Tramen, 808 Ride, 808 closed hat, think break, Hoover, Reece bass etc etc become part of electronic music culture.

To not like a tune because you dislike the snare seems a bit shitty and elitist and narrow minded. I just try and ignore it, I’m still surprised by how creative people get rehashing the same genres and tropes for 20 years but certain combinations will always work and the YC snare is one of those magical sounds that defies logic.ā€

EDIT: Added for journalistic flare

well there you go!

i use live primarily but fruity loops was the first daw i ever played with. i just bought FL20 since it’s mac compatible and it feels like a comfy old pair of shoes. haven’t made anything meaningful in it yet, but that’s only because my focus is wrapping up a project that i’ve been working on FOREVER

i like the way the buttons for the steps actually look like those on FL  …just wondering how it’s been done if those are rubber ones

Am I the only one who thinks itĀ“s extremely weird that the only ā€œsourceā€ for this is some youtube channel?

nothing else I could find, anywhere… nothing on AkaiĀ“s website(s), nothing on any retailer website/onlineshops that hasnĀ“t been pulled again since yesterday.

literally everything else is just circle-referencing back to this same ā€œYCS Productionsā€ video who apparently is not capable of linking his alleged source…

shrug

Most certainly so.

And I find weird that the controller visually matches the default pattern as if no one was adding more channels and 4 was the optimal number. One, that you can shift, would make more sense. But maybe it’s 4 that you can shift. We’ll see.
