Firmware 1.03 for DT2 - Overbridge

So, basically the Digitakt is now a sampler that can’t sample. Hope they get this sorted out soon, like today.

I can confirm that I’m having a similar problem when resampling inside the DII device. The length of the pattern doesn’t seem to matter but the samples are all >10seconds long.

Disappointing as it a making the unit unusable for me at present. Back to 1.02 for me

I’m getting mad feedback when I sample an external source with overbridge connected. It happens once the sampling has finished and the assign to pad page comes up. Nothing can be done to fix.

…oh and then once I save and quit logic and reopen the Overbridge engine can’t see DT2. The engine just says “measuring” .

Where can I find 1.02 firmware? Link from previous announcement is dead https://elektron.se/en/download-support-digitakt-ii#resources
I suppose you have old version saved locally. Any way to share it?

I have the same issue.

I had that issue also.

any news on the sample editing/ slicing front yet?

The only thing mentioned in the release notes was overbridge.

I lose all sound each time I save a sample now. I have to restart and everything works as normal. I also get a loud buzzing noise if save the sample and Overbridge is open.

Ok actually seems like it may only be for longer samples.

For me, the limit seems to be just over a second or so. I tried sampling both over USB (Overbridge and USB MIDI+Audio) and the regular ol’ Audio In. Same result, the audio engine crashes and forces a reboot.

Tried a format of +drive and a factory reset, but still happens. I tried various length sampling and as long as it is below three seconds, it seems to work. Above it, it kills the audio engine and high pitch audio is sent on (what seems) random track channels from the DT2.

Update: since Elektron has redone their website it’s impossible to download older firmware versions afaik, and since mine came with 1.02 I have no earlier downloaded version on hand.

I have exactly the same problem. The device arrived on Friday and today it is no longer usable. As soon as I save a sample the audio breaks down and it just goes beeeeeep. I then have to restart the device. This is not good and completely independent of Overbridge.

EDIT; I need 1.02 as download!

Thank you.

Nice, thanks!

Of course tested sampling with line in, with both USB Config settings, and it worked flawlessly. Anything from 1 second to 66 second samples

How did this issue with 1.03 not get caught in QA and testing? Do the latest batches of DT2 have slight changes in the hardware to make them work differently than those manufactured earlier this year?

I’m glad that it works on 1.02, which means it’s not a hardware fault with storage or audio, only firmware issues which is easier to fix. Hopefully really soon.

Thank you! :+1:

Very nice, thanks. I also have the “Sample from USB input = Crash” issue, so back to 1.02 for me too :disappointed: Overbridge support looked nice though

Seems like a lot of users with this sampling bug! Has anyone made a support ticket? Is elektron aware of it?

@Patrik I’m not sure if you’re the right person to ask about this?
