Had a rough night and while dozing off i had an idea, wouldnt it be cool to be able to play patterns like only when the buttons in pattern mode held down(any electron machine)? More of a MPC style of jamming maybe, but with full patterns

I would like this along with a way to define a patterns first step. The first step in a pattern should be defined in real time with a button combo. This way you donāt have to constantly rotate trigs into position.
Fire patterns momentarily
This is implemented in Machinedrum (MAP, GATE). Would be nice on OT too.
Possible with a midi processor. From a midi keyboard, you can map notes to patterns and play them instantly. Stop them releasing keys.

Controlling OT patterns with ST tracks ?
Doable. OT can receive a Restart note, and it can restart a different pattern instantly, if you send a different program change before. This can be randomized with Trig Conditions.
Isnāt this what you get when you set the tracks in a pattern to
PLAYS FREE:ON / TRIG MODE:HOLD / TRIG QUANT:DIRECT(or whatever quantised length you want)
& then use the first 8 track trigs?
(Not familiar with the MPC version of firing patterns but it sounds like youāre describing thisā¦)
