Figure 3 - Does anyone else find this terrifying?

Perhaps I’ve watched too much sci-fi, but I can’t see a world where this ends well.

No morals or ethics, it just blindly obeys orders? What are the safe guards?

If this gets deployed for more “official” use, I’m terrified.

Sometimes I wonder why I was born into this specific window in history where I may have lived to see the apex of humanity and then within the same lifetime will potentially witness it’s fall.

As a cautionary tale it’s fascinating. As a lifestyle choice it’s horrifying.

Who will need a human sized 250k toy in a 30 square meter appartment to do the laundry 8 Times slower than my kids ?

I much prefer minigun mounted cyberdogs o’ doom ! Seem way cooler, less creepy and much more usefull ! :grimacing:

naaaah, they be way more creepy!

Walmart is already selling some similar robot (different brand, i forget which) for $21k, so like the cybertruck I expect we’ll see these in the wild before long. I am less than enthused about the fact thats there’s so many videos of both engineers and kids beating up on these things to demonstrate how uber safe/helpless they are. I am actually big into the idea of machine consciousness and autonomous robots and feeling quite despondent at how we’re fucking it up straight out of the gate.

I think its incredible. We have come so far and its getting better exponentially. Not quite there yet but it will. One day these people doing this development will be seen as true pioneers. May as well get used to it because its here to stay, Enjoy the ride as they say. Elon Musk is one of the true pioneers pushing this AI technology.

Im a huge Blade Runner fan so you may understand my excitement.

not really creepy, recalls “zero” character from borderlands, even if it is thousands times slower… also completely useless. Future will be way more terrific, based on other signals we see these days, not because of this goofy vacuum cleaner

So you remember the Russian AI chess robot that broke the kids finger for taking his turn too quickly and then OpenAI’s o3 model that refused to shut down? Just wait until you give them bodies.

Maybe this will help:

Think I’ll wait for few firmware updates before I pull the trigger on this one, because I prefer my family to be alive.

One day, one of us will get into an argument with some guy and we’ll think “i can handle him”. The guy will pull out his smartphone, open an app and 20 seconds later his car comes around the corner and some fucking robot jumps out.

Do your cardio.

I’m so naive, I never thought that daft punk would turn on us like this.

Each one of those evil robots better be clad in 1 inch steel plating or I’ll blast straight through it like butter as I sit in my lawn chair in my Hawaiian shirt and Croc’s sipping wine and having a blast.

How long do those fancy batteries last with and extra 400 lbs of armor?

My favourite episode of the Twilight zone introduced AI robots to help a exiled prisoner on a barren planet. Ahead of its time… Music by Bernard Herrmann btw.
