Hey everyone, I am interested to know which VST Synths Elektron users use the most. This is not a question about which is the most Elektron-like, maybe not even which one you like the best. But about that thing you actually use the most

Dune 3 is another go-to synth for me (and likely a decent amount of folks here as well).
I voted for Spire though I really havenāt used it in a long time. It did get heavy use for awhile.
Iāll give a quick shout-out for Minimal Audio Current. Itās a powerful and versatile synth with Wavetable, Granular, Sampler, FM etc like Pigments, Serum, PhasePlant etc. Nice workflow, great built-in FX. The presets lean towards modern and over-processed, but I think thatās just the fashion at the moment.
If push came to shove and I had to choose just one, it would probably be Serum 2. Itās so powerful and it can do so many things. The spectral oscillator type is really something special. I reckon I could make a pretty good argument that itās the most versatile synth on the entire list.
DUNE 3
Not on this list, and not likely on many lists, but Saurus (Tone 2) is my āhidden gemā VST synth.
V Collection for āvibesā, Vital if I want to focus on sound design. I assume there or other super-synths (like Serum or Pigments) that are better than Vital, but I havenāt tried any of them, so perhaps ignorance is bliss!
i used a lot Reaktor in the past, donāt miss out on this one,itās often on sales.
actually i choosed pigment because of itās additive engine but i could have gone serum for the spectral engine too.
Granular and wavetables are everywhere nowadays, even in tonverk so not really a decisive choice to be based upon imho.
Great breakdown! Vital is absolutely top-tier for sound design, especially considering it has a free version. While Serum is an industry standard for presets, Pigments definitely wins when it comes to combining wavetable, granular, and additive synthesis in one single plugin.
Iāve got Serum, Pigments, Massive X etc., but the synth VST I use the most is Fors Tela. Itās simplicity is deceptive - itās capable of a wide range of sounds, and I usually come up with something usable by hitting the random button a few times, and then tweaking the results.
Iām sure I would be happy if you were to make something for V Collection, much like Reverb Machine did, then thereās a high chance it will play on Astrolab, which I tend to pull out a lot.

What I actually use the most: Synplant, Reaktor and a bunch of MaxForLive synths.
You donāt need VSTs when you have Tonverk
Otherwise, ZEBRA 3 by U-HE seems to be a good flagship product as well.

Yep I would have voted for Dune 3 if it was on the list as well as Repro and Hive.
Repro/Repro-5 for me as well.
I voted for Diva, but Synplant sees a ton of use also.
My vote for Pigments maybe shouldnāt be counted, since 95% of my uses of that plugin are deploying the Harutoās Woodwind preset.

really have no any further need for any vst synth at all anymore, apart from sonic chargeās syntplant since iām on bitwigā¦
omnisphere was my goto, whenever i needed higly polished sound right out of the boxā¦but those days are long goneā¦
never needed serum, because there was always vitalā¦
if anybody has BOTH in actual use at once, they must be foolsā¦
uhe stuff is always kinda better than any real thing and beyond reality at once, sureā¦
but also always needs quite a bunch of huuge how to, if u wanna go beyond beautyful but nevertheless endless preset scrolling distraction safarisā¦
and i really donāt get this phaseplant and pigments thingā¦maybe i would have feel temptet when they were the hottest sonic shit in town, but that was around the time, when i realised for the first time, oops, bitwig makes it aaaalll soooo much pretty obsoleteā¦
another next ui with itās own next new ways how it needs to be handled became just tiring at some pointā¦meanwhile, everybody is just cooking with waterā¦
Thanks for the votes and the comments! I donāt think I can add more options without resetting it o.O I tried to add those which are the most well known and with the largest user base.
And yes, I think about making presets for one of those. I do own Massive X, but as we see, it only got a few votes. Personally I tend to Pigments as well (it got the most votes so far), also because itās sometimes on sale, while Serum isnāt ā¦
