Yep +1 for Battalion. I’ve got the iOS version and it’s utterly amazing. I’m not using it as a drum machine/sequencer at all. Just using it to coax some unbelievable sounds out of , and then weave them into collages
Melda MSoundFactory
Vengeance Avenger 2
Unfiltered Audio Lion
Soundtoys with Tom Wolfe presets
4 Pockets Wavecloud
VCV Rack
NI Reaktor
Reason (Grain especially)
I really love Pigments, mostly run it standalone mode
Anyone got some soft synths they like on iPad? Is that even a serious thing?
Something about iPad feels more single-purpose fullscreen app mode focussed for me than in a general purpose MacOS/Windows space.
KarmaFX Synth Modular
Waldorf Microwave and Largo
For sound design.
For percussion:
Audiorealism ADM
NI Battery
For EP:
AAS Lounge Lizard
Bassline:
Audiorealism ABL
I keep my folder small these days and only on my laptop for when I’m gearless on a plane or something
Check out Valhalla dsp. Supermassive is a must have and it’s free
I’d like to hear more about the Tom Wolfe sound toys presets
I can recommend Pulsar Modular plugins. I use them for mastering.
And Soundtheory Kraftur as well.
Absolutely! I’m not suggesting that you think this, but generally speaking, lots of people still have this idea that ipad music software is like a toy, or somehow inferior to desktop, but that’s not the case at all.
Nambu, Buzz Zone, Tera Pro, Hilda, Stringlab…to name just a few , are all incredibly deep ( I’m thinking sound design). And a fraction the price of desktop. It’s a whole new world
I second this, ios apps are top notch.
I know how to Google, I was interested in people’s experiences of them
Pretty good. I picked up the whole bundle on BF for a decent price. They’re mostly in the realms of making things spacey, cinematic or some are a bit lofi and they go well with the stock presets.
NI Reaktor. From creating synth multi-samples, glitchy drum loops, drones, etc. to FX processing like granular, buffer shufflers, etc. Lots of great stuff on the Reaktor User Library.
Iris still blows my mind every time I use it.
