Hello all,
I recently got an Analog Heat +FX. I am using it in studio mode like
OT --main--> AH ---> mixer ---> output
'-----cue-------------^
The idea is that I can send certain sounds through the AH+FX for additional processing, but leave some sounds dry.
You can get some really nice sounding transitions when you use the crossfader to move from 100% FX-send to 100% dry-send.
Unfortunately, I can’t figure out a way to do this efficiently.
I can set up something like
T1 - Thru machine, lofi, delay
T2 - Neighbor machine, filter, delay
T3 - Flex machine, Record T2, Play R3 one micro-time later, output to Main
T4 - Flex machine, Record T2, Play R4 one micro-time later, output to Cue
By fading between T3 and T4, I can get the fade effect I want. But this is very wasteful - two whole tracks just to do a basic fade!
I can think of 3 software changes, any one of which would significantly improve this:
- Allow P-locking level and cue level in scenes (best option)
- Add a second amp level parameter for cue output, usable with p-locks/scenes (second best)
- Add a second XLV parameter, call it XCLV, for cue level. You could just set T2 XLV = [Min, Max] and T2 XCLV = [Max, Min] and you could fade between the two no problem. (least flexible option, but maybe easiest)
Unless Elektron decides to do something like that, are there any tricks I can use on the OT as it exists to avoid having to waste 2 tracks for this fade effect?
