Faderfox UC3 -> RYTM

Hi,

Ive got a Faderfox UC3 lying around thats not getting any use. I’d like to use the faders on the UC3 to control the RYTM performance pads. I’ve had a look in the RYTM manual to find the cc’s, but I havent got a clue how I should set this up. Im a complete noob when it comes to this. Im not even sure how to connect the UC3 to the RYTM as they both have the same female USB port?? :flushed:

Would be very grateful if someone who knows how to do this could help me out? Is it even possible to do what I want?

Thanks in advance!!

  1. If you use MIDI over USB, you’ll need a USB host.
  2. You need to check what you PERF MIDI channel is on the AR. Default is 15 iirc. So UC3 should talk on this channel.
  3. Then you set UC3 CCs sends so that they match AR CC table

Thanks for the help LyingDalai.

  1. Right so midi leaves the UC3 over USB, but then after the USB host does midi enter the RYTM through the USB or 5 din midi input?

Also, could you recommend a decent USB host? Or do they all do the same job?

The USB host will send data received over any of it’s outputs, DIN or USB.
