Matthias said he had a new version comming soon, which allows individual ports to be addressed. I have the Nb32 and EC4, i personally like the EC4 a lot more because of the screen available, and the programming on the device is very practical. Hope they solved that on the new controller. Operarting it was fine, but to adjust things on the fly Faderfox was the clear winner.
Oh this sucks. Iāve been wanting to get one (or both) of those for a while but had budgeted it for 2026. Not a whole lot of used ones going around.
the 12 channel thing isnāt a barrier for me, I wanted to pair it with my Rytm Mk1, which has, you guessed it, 12 channels.
Oof that Timepod looks legit
Want to remind people reading this again that two UC4 give you 16 vertical faders and two horizontal ones. You can easily send the MIDI from FF1 into FF2 and merge them without any work, itās still a small bundle and about the same price as the 12 fader device.
I put her up for sale a few times. Not even 1 offer:
In hindsight, Iām glad no one did cause Iām pretty sure I would have regretted itā¦.
Also go bigā¦.like 24 faders ![]()
Of course youāre right. I had the MX12 in mind, didnāt think about the combination of two UC4s. ![]()
I was about to put it in the basket today on Thomann and noticed it was gone. Quickly checked the other big retailers and itās indeed gone everywhere. The sold out badge on the website was also not there last I checked. Hopefully something new on the horizon then. The Neuzeit seems capable but Iām not sure I could get used to those aesthetics.
Iāve considered this but am afraid about the fadersā compactness. Has this ever been an issue for you?
Not at all. That might be a matter of what I compare it to / am used to: compared to my SH 01 and JU 06a, their travel distance is pretty long. But I also donāt use them for crazy precise or back and forth movements where you might appreciate those big faders or the one that has 12. For me, theyāre the ideal size really. The bigger ones would just mean the thing takes up more space on my desk without an additional benefit. But I think only you can tell how big they should be for you at minimum.
Did he give any hint on when the new versions will be available?
Any word on this?
looking at buying this comboā¦tricky to find atm - anyone in the UK - pm me
i emailed him - said hes launching a new product in the summer
Interesting - thanks. On the FaderFox website now, every single product apart from the EC4 is listed as ādiscontinued/out of stockā. It seems like heās clearing the decks for something new. I hope he is, because the MX12 and EC4 (I own both) are excellent bits of kit.
And I hope that whatever the new product is, it has faders. There arenāt a huge number of options for fader-centric MIDI controllers in the market, and most of the options that do exist are hard to get hold of IME (looking at the Neuzeit Drop which has been out of stock worldwide for months now, and the expected stock date on Thomann has just moved backwards by another monthā¦).
Just an FYI for everyone wondering about details for the upcoming new faderfox hardware. I just messaged with him asking about whats going to replace pc12, and here is the response:
"currently I work on the successor devices for PC12/MX12 which will have a lot of new features.
they will come in a alu-case like my old SOLID CONTROL devices.
the first will have 82 pots and 13 keys + OLED display
the 2nd one will have 16 faders (100mm) + 21 keys + OLED
all pots and faders have a better resolution (about 2000 steps instead the standard of 128 steps)
availability is planned for middle of the year"
Thanks for sharing this. Mathias never disappoints.
Wrong thread, but Iām even more hoping for a good EC4 successor.
100 mm faders? motorized? ![]()
Allen & Heath K2/3 that you can link together with utp? I still regret selling mineā¦
Neuzeit Instruments DROP , or wait until mid 2026 and watch out for new faderfox boxes to show up ![]()
Awesome video of the capabilities of the Neuzeit Drop:
