been messing around with midi mapping the fader for fun and was just wondering, is the resolution of the fader actually 127 or is that just stepped for the sake of making it work via CC?
Internally it’s basically 127 steps I think. If you fade between say 0 and 10 on a parameter rather than 0-127 you get a finer resolution than 0,1,2,3,4,etc. That’s useful for allowing you to do things like make fine pitch adjustments, I use one of the LFOs on each track that has a constant offset for that purpose.
I’m not sure if the crossfader would have more than 127 values when used like that, but I doubt it.
